I am not a HUGE makeup wearer. Ever since I became a stay at home mom and ditched my career as an Administrative Assistant, makeup has become something that I wear for special occasions...weddings, dates with hubby and other events. I won't say that I look frumpy all day long but I may start wearing a little makeup to make myself look a bit more presentable. With Spring right around the corner (I believe that if I keep saying that, Spring will show up eventually!) it is time to set some new goals and one of those goals is to try to look pretty and put-together on a semi-daily basis. Spring is the time for new beginnings and getting a makeover is definitely a way to jump start the spring season.

Mary Kay had their Makeover Day on Saturday and judging by their Facebook page, there were loads of ladies enjoying makeovers! My weekend exploded and with the time change, my entire family was in overdrive so I didn't get to do much that day...but that doesn't mean I can't do something on another day, right?

Delicate Details was a theme that was featured this year and once again, Mary Kay's Celebrity Makeup Artist Virginia Linzee had some great tips and tricks to get women looking their best! Here are her suggestions, complete with a photo to give you an idea of what she means...

• Apply Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Hazelnut to the creases and on the eyelids. Layer on Moonstone, taking it up to the brows. Apply Sparkling White as a pop of color in the middle of the eyelids.
• Line upper and lower lash lines with Mary Kay® Deep Brown Eyeliner.
• Apply Mary Kay® Lash Love® Lengthening™ Mascara in I ♥ black.
• Define brows with Mary Kay® Brow Definer Pencil in Brunette or Mineral Eye Color in Espresso.
• Brush on Mary Kay®  Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush.
• Apply Mary Kay® Creme Lipstick in Red. Blot, then reapply at the center of the lips.

I'll start off first with the Finishing Spray and Foundation Primer. These two products are a favorite of mine and when I wear makeup, I do use them! The Foundation Primer basically sets the stage for the rest of your makeup. It is silky and glides on smooth and gives your foundation a smooth surface to adhere to. The Finishing Spray is designed for when you are all done with your makeup and it just "seals" everything in place...which is nice.

The Translucent Loose Powder is designed to eliminate shade matching and also, to control shine. Personally, I have oily skin that gets shiny so this is definitely a great powder for me! It is soft and silky, perfect for any skin type!

I have always loved using Mary Kay's eye makeup products. Each one wears beautifully and although I am not a fan of eye liners and pencils, Mary Kay's are super easy to use and look great once applied. I LOVE theLash Love Mascara too...it doesn't clump, isn't thick and goopey and stays put for as long as you need it to. I don't buy any other brands of Mascara because this does everything I need it to do!

The Mineral Cheek color is always beautiful. I prefer lighter shades and was running out of my current blush so this was wonderful to get. I honestly don't love the Bronzing Powder as my skin is so incredibly light but it is so shimmery and adds a nice touch to my look. I also like that it comes in different shades.

When I wrote about the eye products previously, I almost forgot to mention the lovely Mineral Eye Colors! These blend so nicely together and really do complement one another. Anytime I use this eye color, I love the end result. It looks great and truly enhances my eyes perfectly.

Now, the Facial Highlighting Pen is something I have never used before and was very interested in because it is designed to hide imperfections and add brightness to shadowy areas on your face such as under the eyes. I love that it is oil-free as well...I don't need any additional oil on my skin!

Last but certainly not least, I am just in love with the Creme Lipstick! Honestly, I am not crazy about the dark red color but on the right person, it looks simply stunning! Whenever I use this lipstick it wears for a long time and you really don't need to do many touch-ups. I also love that it doesn't dry my lips out. In the winter months and early spring months, dry skin and lips seem to be prevalent with me so it is nice to have a good lipstick that doesn't contribute to the drying, but rather moisturizes and nourishes.

So, it seems that having a Mary Kay Makeover is a good idea to help welcome Spring. My skin is a wreck right now (thank you, pregnancy hormones!!!) so once it clears up a bit more, I cannot wait to give myself a full-blown makeover!

Last Christmas my husband surprised me with a new coffee maker.  Who knew that one kitchen gadget could come in so handy.  I love being able to brew up a single serving cup of coffee or other flavored hot beverage in about a minute.  Before receiving this new coffee machine as a gift, I so hated waking up in the AM's dragging, only to realize I forget to set the old coffee pot's timer -- so no hot coffee was waiting for me.  And, with little ones, as soon as I got up, so did they, making it impossible to get a pot of coffee on, let alone have time to pour a cup and enjoy (hot!).  But, thanks to the new single serving coffee maker, I was able to make a cup of coffee when I found a free moment, usually when the girls went down for their mid morning naps.  But, like any kitchen gadget or device, this coffee maker had its limitations. For one, it couldn't make cold beverages, like iced coffees or iced teas, which are great during the hot summer months.  And, second, it was clunky and took up a lot of counter space, which is limited in my kitchen.  So, while I was happy to be joining the ranks of so many other families with this particular coffee maker, I longed for yet another one that took up less space and offered the ability to brew up hot and cold beverages in no time at all.  Additional features would be an added bonus!

It has been two weeks since I received the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto coffee maker, and I can't stop raving about it with family and friends.  And, whenever I get the chance, I have been inviting girlfriends over to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or a flavored hot beverage, some the sample of NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto varieties I was sent. While I love coffee, I have to say that my favorite beverage to brew up with the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto is the Chococino hot chocolate, which also comes with a frothy milk capsule.  Now that the cold weather and snow is here, it is always nice to have a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream, or in this case, rich, creamy frothy milk.  

The girls and I love baking up cookies to have ready for our evening hot chocolate.  This is definitely one way to end a perfect day, and one that has created many memories thus far this season.  This is the first time they were introduced to hot chocolate, and since the first sip, they have been hooked like their mom! :-)  We have two more chocolate lovers in the house!  And, to make our Chococino hot chocolate special, I add 1 tsp. of pure vanilla extract to the cup and stir up.  My Nana used to do this for th grandkids and would tell us we were having "adult coffee".  It tasted so good, and I have continued using this secret recipe (well not any more) for my hot chocolates, and now for the girls'.  You will have to try this little trick out, as it really adds a nice flavor to the already rich and creamy hot chocolate. Mmm, I am craving a cup of Chococino hot chocolate right now. :-)

I can't wait until Christmas day and New Year's Eve, when I will be hosting holiday dinners for family and friends at my house.  For those who haven't experienced the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto, they are in for a treat!

Has this ever happened to you? You are in the middle of printing out something important (or even some photos) and you start to notice some streaking? Uh-oh! You are running out of ink. Ugh!

I have had that happened to me more times then I care to remember.

This is how the program works.

• Create an account.
• Choose your plan.

Your HP printer will tell the HP Instant Ink program when you are in need of ink. You don’t have to worry about it. HP will automatically send you the ink when you need it along with an envelope to return the empty ink cartridge for recycling.

Talk about convenient. No more having to stop what I’m doing to go to the store, pick up ink, wait online to pay and drive back home. You can get the ink that you need while you are at home.

Each ink cartridge should yield 500 pages.

The plans are very affordable. They range in price from $2.99 – $9.99 a month, depending on how much you print.

If you don’t print out the allotted pages you can roll over up to a month’s worth of page the next month.

There is no annual fee and you can change or cancel your plan whenever you want.

I’m currently on the $2.99 plan. That is a small fee to pay for not having to go to the store to buy ink.

The HP Instant Ink cartridges actually have a bit more ink in them compared to the ones you buy off the store shelves so they will last longer too.

Your plan is not based on how many cartridges you use so you can feel free to print as often as you like – even colorful photos.

HP Instant Ink also saves you money. Check out your possible savings each year using HP Instant Ink compared to purchasing the cartridges from the store.

That is a big savings.

In order to take advantage of this service you need an eligible HP printer.

In addition you need internet connection, e-mail and a card for billing.

Whether you are an infrequent printer or someone who burns through ink cartridges rapidly, the HP Instant Ink is a valuable service. It pay for it’s self with the savings and time saved from having to keep on top of your ink levels and running to the store to purchase more.

At the time I am writing this I have not had a need to replace any of my ink cartridges. When I do I will up date this post and share my thoughts.

I love taking pictures. Even before having kids, I took a ridiculous amount of pictures. Up until a few years ago, to get pictures off the camera, you needed to find the camera cord and then wait for everything to upload.
